Anthony Jeselnik Fort Lauderdale Concert reviews
now i am a NEW fan!
"Anthony Jeselnik's new songs surprised me with their tone and arrangement, which I found better than his old stuff. I have to admit that I like "Jack and Diane" but I enjoy his "popular" songs as well. This was my first time seeing him, and I hadn't been a super fan before. Most artists save their greatest hits for the end of their concerts, but in this case, the music before the "greatest hits" was so good that I didn't feel the usual big "energy" ending. The hour-long film before the concert is a documentary of his recent successful attempts to go completly retro, recording in the same spots as famous past artists and using vintage recording equipment. I really enjoyed that video, which put me in the right mood to appreciate Anthony Jeselnik's performance. I look forward to his future career being even more successful than his first part. The drummer played a non-traditional "drum set" in the first part, accompanied by an accordion, fiddle (violin), and a REAL piano on stage, which added to the enjoyable sounds I heard."
